How long will you play for?We normally perform 1.5 - 2 hours of live music during the evening, generally finishing by midnight. This is usually 2 x 45 minute sets or 3 x 30 minute sets but these can easily over-run when the party gets going! We can alter this to fit your requirements and can play as much or as little music as you require. What happens during band breaks? It is our aim to make sure that breaks come at most appropriate times (i.e. if you're having a buffet in the evening this would be a perfect break time). If you have a raffle organized then again a perfect time for the band to break. We can also provide background music and/or a DJ service. Do you provide background/dancing music? We can offer a DJ service after and between the sets if required. The DJ service includes a laptop (with vast amount of popular songs from all eras) plus a band member manning the laptop, making basic announcements (or remaining silent if preferred) and taking requests. Additionally you are welcome to bring your own selections to be played through our sound system on CD, MP3 or iPod. Please let us know about this when you make your booking so that we can ensure that the correct cable connections are available. How many of you are there? We are a five piece band consisting of:
This full line-up allows us to play all of our music completely live without using any pre-recorded backing tracks. Do you accept song requests? We are happy to learn one additional song (if it isn't already in our repertoire) especially for your event free of charge. Please let us know of any special requests at least 8 weeks prior to your event. We can normally accommodate any requests from guests that are from our play list. How is the play list decided? From our experience, we know what works well at a party so we have a general idea of what we will play. On the night we will read the audience to gauge the mood of the event and alter the play list accordingly. Can my friend sing?As long as we know the song to accompany them then if it's OK with you it's OK with us. Can we use your equipment to make speeches?Yes, our equipment is at your disposal throughout the event for making speeches, announcements etc. Will the band need a PA or special lighting? We will supply our own PA suitable for events up to 500 people. We also supply a dedicated lighting rig. However we can interface to house PA / lighting systems if preferred. Do you charge extra for sound and lighting equipment? No. We provide our own high quality professional sound and lighting systems and these are included in any quote for the band. How long do you need to set up?We need about an hour and a half to set up and sound-check comfortably. The sound check will involve playing music at gig volume so you may wish this to take place prior to guests arriving. If there are any access issues to the venue we need to know in advance. Will you set up before the guests arrive? For parties and weddings we would generally expect to set up a couple of hours before the performance time. On a typical evening we might set up around 18:30 and perform between 20:00 pm and midnight. Setting up a long time in advance of the performance time is sometimes necessary and this can be arranged however there will be an extra cost so please include this information when making your booking. How much space do you need?We can perform with or without staging, indoors or outdoors. The ideal area we require to perform comfortably is 5 x 4 metres. For outdoor performances a marquee is ideal or at least some sort of canopy in case of wet weather. What sort of electrical supply do you need?We require at least two electrical sockets in the vicinity of the performance area. The full band with all sound and lighting equipment requires power consumption of no more than 5000W, which can be safely provided by 2 standard mains wall sockets. What will you wear? This depends on the type of event we are performing at and your requirements and includes:
Please let us know if you have any special dress requirements when you make your booking. Can I view the band before booking?Call us on 07956 611345 or email enquiries@savilemusic.co.uk and then we can confirm if there is a suitable public performance coming up that you could attend. Alternatively videos of Savile performing live are available on this website. How much do you cost? Our cost varies based on location, date and performance times and you can obtain an accurate quote online. Alternatively call 07956 611345 or email enquiries@savilemusic.co.uk Please note you are dealing with us direct and not through a third party entertainment agency. By booking with us direct you will be saving a 15-20% commission (added to our fee) that you would have to pay if you did book us through one of these other sources! How much deposit do you require?Once you have booked Savile for your event (either via this website, email or phoning 07956 611345) we will reserve that date for 30 days and send you a contract in the post. Once we have received the signed contract and a deposit of £100 the booking will then be confirmed. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable. Balance payment is made by cheque or cash paid at the start of the performance. What happens if I cancel? In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation fees will apply:
In neither case will the initial £100 deposit be refunded. I'm a bit worried about volume? We play as loud or quiet as you require. Please bear in mind however that a 5 piece rock/pop band with live drums will not be suitable for providing low level background music. Do we need to provide food for you?If you are able to provide food and drink this will be greatly appreciated however we understand that this is not always possible or convenient so will normally bring our own food. We will require a tap for us to refill our water bottles. Do I need to provide anything else for the band?We do need a secure changing room at the disposal of the band for changing and leaving personal belongings. I can't decide between a band or disco?A good band that can read an audience is essential to a successful night. We are able to play for a wide range of age groups making sure everybody feels involved in the party. The other major benefit of a live band is its great visual presence on an event. For those who don't enjoy dancing they'll still have a great show to look at! Additionally, for a small additional charge, we can provide a basic DJ service so that you don't have to choose between a band and a disco! What happens if a band member falls ill?If a band member should fall ill or be indisposed we will replace him/her with an equally talented professional - without the need to worry you about it. How far do you travel?Usually within approximately 2 hours of Lincoln. We can (and have) played further away but our quotation will be increased to reflect the additional travel/accommodation expenses. What areas do you cover? We are happy to play almost anywhere in the world! The band is based in Lincon (East Midlands) so our most competitive rates will be for bookings in this region. What venues will you play?We perform at a wide variety of venues from pubs and village halls to large country estates, theatres, halls and hotel function rooms. We will also perform in marquees or outdoors, under cover, if the weather allows it. |
